The Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception is the largest Roman Catholic church in the United States and North America, and one of the ten largest churches in the world.
The solemn mass at noon on Sundays and other Solemnities with the Choir of the Basilicia is famous for the sacred music and the majestic pipe organs.
These photos were taken on Christmas Day 2014 at the Spanish mass in the afternoon.
And here are photos of the Xanten Cathedral (German: Xantener Dom), sometimes called St. Victor’s Cathedral (German: St.-Viktor-Dom), a Roman Catholic church in Xanten, a historic town in the lower Rhine area, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. It is considered the biggest cathedral between Cologne and the sea. In 1936 it was declared a minor basilica by Pope Pius XI.
